Just as there is a difference between “seizure” and “flu,” there is also a pivotal distinction between “raped” and “kissed.” Faraci’s father, in addition to recovering from a vicious rape that the insensitive “common moron” has failed to report properly (let alone assist in stopping), now has to spend a good deal of time attempting to clear up the misinformation that the alleged journalist has helped to promulgate.

Wow, I can see some of his points (The Carpenter story mainly - there's no excuse not to update it quickly, and yes the headline is a little insensitive) but does Devin classify himself as a Journalist anyway?

He calls Devin a mysoginist for the Paranormal Activity 2 gag, but I thought that was just a comment on how the film takes every opportunity to show what Katie is packing.

The reason is, in part, because Devin takes the bait. If Devin would just write his pieces and let his work speak for itself, he would be fine. Unfortunately, whether it's calculated to draw attention to himself by any means, or if his personality is of the type that has to feed on conflict, Devin can't help but respond back, post replies, and get caught up in the nonsense.

The solution to all this is simple. Devin's actual desire to stop all this silly back-and-forth is another matter (and unknown quantity) altogether.

I can't believe Devin may have, arguably, used the word "cosmic" in a technically incorrect way. If we can't be absolutely unanimous on usage and grammar, how can we possibly expect to communicate with each other?

Who else saw Catfish? Caught it last night as was blown away. Of all of the "found footage" styled films to come out the past several years, this is probably the only one that will be remembered. I actually wonder a lot about found footage films, and how well they will age, with the growing quality of consumer home video. Will films like Catfish and Cloverfield be unbearable too watch in 20 years, like watching a film shot entirely by a webcam circa 1998?

It isn't out here yet, I'm consciously trying to avoid reading too much about it.

Maybe it's worth having some kind of catch-all "Devin: Where is he now?" instead of treating the guy like the elephant in the room and having occasional threads like this popping up. I mean, the guy was a huge part of this site for years, it's inevitable that there's going to be lingering interest. It could position itself somewhere between the Princess KHate thread and the Ebert thread.
