If they ever do a US remake of BATTLE ROYALE, they should totally set it as an alt-history piece where the Axis powers win WWII and then institute the tournament as a way of purifying the populace.

Damnit. But yeah, at least it's finally getting officially released here and there'll be a nice domestic DVD release down the line. I take it there's no chance of both versions playing in theaters though?

Because they are special.

Anyhow a brilliant film and I look forward to ditching my bootleg copy I bought in NY for the Anchor Bay one.

The hollyweird redo for this would be a hilarious neuter job. Look forward to seeing some westerner go all Lord of the Flies with Twilight speak.
