YOUR HIGHNESS TRAILER. AMAZING. - Page 2

The Pineapple Express connection makes me worry because I just don't like that flick.

But the "what if she's been butt fucked" line killed me plus Portman's ass among other thing might get me to go see it.

nm.

Hate to board the pineapple express hate, but I too disliked it. THIS on the other hand, makes my other hand happy. Awesome.

Seen both. Never got anything out of either. I wish I knew why.

Maybe this is residual slave Leia lust, and it's the metal.

Fix that shit immediately son.

This seems amazing. Totally, outstandingly amazing. The comedy here feels totally effortless (Franco and McBride make a great team) and honestly, it looks like the movie will hold up on the ass-kicking end, too.

Magic...motherfucker. Can't wait.
This movie already looked like it was culled directly from my brain, what with the mix of humor, fantasy action, Natalie & Zooey and all... but then the pot smoking puppet showed up. Seriously, this just shot near the top of my anticipation list.
Lotta old jokes in here. Looks like it could have been a Cheech & Chong movie way back when.
The fact that the two female leads are Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel is kind of amazing. Women in these kinds of movies (fantasies, stoner movies, or effects comedies, take your pick) tend to get relegated to the role of straight man/eye candy. Here's hoping they give these two something more substantial to play.
It had me hooked at" Magic.......Motherfucker!".I wanna see this yesterday. The wait is going to be hard.

Franco loves goofy stunts, like the ones he did on 30 rock.
Same for Portman, have you seen her "Between two ferns"?
they should have named the movie Dungeons, Dragons & Natalie Portman's Ass
post #64 of 115
Although I'd much prefer its to be ...& Zooey Deschanel's Ass. God, that woman is just the right amount of gorgeous.

Fixed.

I had not seen anyone mention it but You can totally see Portman's ass in this trailer and it looks really good
post #67 of 115
Normally, stoner comedies (Pineapple Express aside) don't appeal to me at all, but this looks funny as hell. I think it has something to do with the setting, and the fact that I like "Ye Olde Adventure" films.

Also, who was the girl bathing? I didn't see a good view of her, although her hair was breathtaking.
I love Natalie Portman but if that is your definition of an ass, well, get down.
Now that people are coming out of the woodworks and expressing Deschenel-love, I'll do as all the non-Portman lovers do: Confuse people.

Zooey Deschenel does nothing for me. She's cute. I see it. I understand that. But it just doesn't nothing to me.
Portman looks mighty fine in this and the trailer is goofy enough but it's not as great as the hype it's getting.
This trailer was a hilarious start to my morning. I'm also in the "didn't like Pineapple Express" camp, but this looks like it blends too many delicious '80s references (RED SONJA BIKINI! DARK CRYSTAL PUPPETS) too much of the same.

My mom actually sent me a message on Twitter and said "I want to see this opening day, is that weird?" I think that might be the most ringing endorsement yet. I thought she would say "Well ... that's certainly YOUR type of humor.", because she certainly doesn't have that healthy love of fantasy schlock that I do. (I couldn't even get her to understand Robot Unicorn Attack.)
I loved Pineapple Express, and don't really care about the fantasy genre. Still enjoyed the trailer, though. Oh and Portman's butt hommina-hommina dip derp.

WHAT!?
This "Zooey vs Natalie" argument is akin to a "Food Vs Oxygen" argument.
Zooey > Food
And both are enjoyable to eat, amiright? Looks around. Silence.

I'll be in the corner.
I used to be in the "Zooey is Katy Perry - breasts" but that corset is doing wonders...in my pants.
Katy Perry, I will admit, does edge out Zooey. Barely.

And only because of those magnificent hoo haas
post #79 of 115
Yeah normally I hate these types of comedies that try to blend comedy with fantasy. I usually get much more interested in the fantasy element and get annoyed at the comedy. However this will be my exception. I rarely laugh out loud at trailer moments but that was fantastic.
if I had any choice though I'd have to go with Keeley Hazell. Excuse me while I go finish thinking about her.

Not trying to pick a fight or anything, but how many of these have there been?
This looks like a lot of fun, indeed. The tone's there and, by a minute or so in, it was totally working for me. The accents, the snazzy effects and design, everything. The whole thing looks gorgeous, and my geek-out high (no pun intended) was only underlined by how beautifully a lot of my homeland's scenery has been captured on film.

Perry looks more and more plastic and boring, the more I see her (and she's all over the show lately.) Consequently, she looks less and less like Zooey... who just keeps getting better. Girl's beautiful in this trailer and it still disappoints me I didn't run into her when she was filming this.

That's your homeland? Shit, my homeland was best captured by the makers of Critters 2 (okay, not really, but that's what my homeland looks like).

I am really surprised at how much this made me laugh, especially the "magic (neck crack) muthafucka!" which should not be funny. Usually I can't handle Danny McBride's John C Reilly deliveries, but again: funny to me here. Maybe I'm just having that type of day. And oh, Natalie... Natalie...

Funniest thing of all? There's a good chance that this movie stars 2010's Best Actor and Best Actress.

And here's a display of fanatical frame-by-frame scrutiny not seen since the Zapruder film...

Is this whole "OMG, Portman's ass is AMAZING!" response going to be one of those silly Internet things now?

I was mildly interested until the quick-cuts, when the Conan (Clearly) and Willow (possibly) homages were glimpsed. That sealed the deal.

Sardo Numspa!

To me, Theroux is giving off a Steve Coogan vibe, which is not a bad thing at all.
I just watched The Happening again (w/ the RiffTrax commentary) and I'm glad I did before seeing this trailer. Why? Zooey Deschanel wears a HORSE BRIDLE! Imagine the looks of surprise she'll be able to deliver now. Zooey Deschanel's range of expression will be better than ever!

Really though, even Danny McBride looking like an extra from the card game scene in Barry Lyndon has me sold on the humor of this movie. Yep.
I actually saw this last week and I'm happy to report it is HILARIOUS, better than Pineapple Express by far. Lots of things for dudes who grew up in the 80's to like as well.

Anyway my full review is here www.thelostmovies.com/blog

Hope that doesnt get me put on some kind of time out!
I've watched this trailer a number of times since it premiered here the other day, and I have to say that the one part that just kills me every time is the "Courtney, will you make funny faces to entertain me?" bit. McBride's unbridled glee is just infectious in that.

Indeed, it is! Check out the Giant's Causeway at 2 minutes in! As if I wasn't loving this enough already, it only goes and uses somewhere up the road to stage its quest. AMAZING!

Maybe it's just 'cos I'm a dirty foreigner, but I find that pretty cool as well!

Also, did anyone else think that the shot of the captive Deschanel staring wistfully off into the distance during Dance's voiceover (around 45 seconds in) was very reminiscent of Embeth Davidtz doing much the same thing in Army of Darkness? I, of course, mean this as a good thing.

Would it be too greedy to hope we also get skeleton soldier smashing in this?

The Murphys were absolutely rockin' it on the soundtrack, too.

This is right up my asscrack! Looks absolutely hillarious. "Suck his venom Courtney"
