Things blowed up real good.

I don't know if it is a good thing to be speechless on a message board but this column just keeps bringing it so much every single time that all I got is some nitpicks about spelling mistakes.

*EDIT* I have a complaint. Netflix doesn't have When the Wind Blows.

These articles are fantastic. There hasn't been one yet where a movie is listed that I haven't heard of and feel compelled to watch.

Great work as always, sir.

Another snazzy article.

I was visiting Reno several years back and saw On the Beach and Dr. Strangelove on the big screen. Pretty great double feature.

Damn it Josh, I already have so many movies I need to watch and you just keep piling them on!

Great work as always!

Excellent article. And great mentions on The War Game and Threads. Seen more horror films than I could count but the latter is still probably the most genuinely scary film I've ever seen.

This looks like a tremendous list, and I've only seen a couple of them. Thanks for the suggestions. Great article.

I got SPECIAL BULLETIN from Warner Archives during a recent sale. That ending was tremendous. Had I seen it when it first aired back in the early-mid 80s, I would have been shaken for days.

I would love to see MIRACLE MILE again, as I remember having a viscerally angry reaction to the ending when it was first released. Being 42 and more fatalistic than I was in my 20's, I probably will like it more.

I am so very . . . apprehensive about watching THREADS. Everything I've heard about it makes it sound skincrawling.

Everything you've heard about that film is true. It makes The Road look like The Pursuit of Fucking Happyness.

Truth. Bleak as a motherfucker.

Also, I'm very happy people are being inspired to seek out movies after reading these pieces (that's what it's all about, after all). This particular History's Movies selection has an uncharacteristically high ratio of good films. Almost every single one is worth your time (especially if you include the MST3K version of INVASION USA).
