Unfortunately, the only thing the original movie had going for it was the then-current paranoia about "killer bees" that fueled a lot of shitty movies and In Search Of . . . episodes. Now it's just kind of laughable. They should swap bedbugs in for bees to hit the zeitgeist.

I'm pretty sure that this is the movie which Caine pegs as his worst ever. And that's coming from a guy who starred in JAWS: THE REVENGE.

If there's one bee related movie bit funnier than OH GOD NOT THE BEES THEY'RE IN MY EYES ETC, it's Caine's "I never dreamed it would be the bees. They've always been our friends!". Hope they keep that line in.

Honestly, The Swarm may be "worse" but it's not as deadly dull as JAWS:TR.
