To quote Mr Snipes from the classic film BLADE:

Are you out your damn mind?!


Now, I don't agree with dodging taxes, but in an age where not a single BP or 'Xe' employee is behind bars after the horrific crimes of both those corporations, going after black actors leaves a funny taste in my mouth

Aside from the politics of the situation, this is a great loss for film. I thought Snipes was on his way back, and IMHO he was the best thing in BROOKLYN'S FINEST where he was a real live wire

The fact he has to sit out the next three years of his career in a federal pen is truly unfortunate

IMHO it is a loss for the film world. Snipes has a natural screen presence that few of his peers can match. As I said, he was the best thing (IMHO) in BROOKLYN'S FINEST and it's a shame that more movies won't get a chance to utilize his unique skill set

IRON MAN 2, for instance, would have been even better with Snipes in the Rhodey role. I think he'd have been aces. He seems like a serious guy and you'd buy the military job, but he also is obviously someone who would enjoy owning a killer robot exoskeleton

But on topic: Pay your taxes. Politicians, actors, businessmen, whoever. Just do it. Your finances tricky and you are not sure if you did it right? Then use a professional. You can not pay the mob and hide. But you cannot run from the government indefinitely.The federales will always get you.

I just rarely if ever see famous white people prosecuted for this stuff, and I am more than certain that plenty of 'em are engaging in exactly the kind of tax dodging shenanigans as Mr Snipes is

I guess you guys may be right. I'd initially assumed there was some kind of systemic bias against Snipes, but I'm willing to admit I may be wrong about that. I guess I just always see stories about people like Nic Cage who owe millions in back taxes, and those cases never seem to end with the actor in question being sent to jail

But again, I'm open to the possibility I'm wrong here

I just did some cursory googling. If Snipes hit someone so hard that they lost hearing, I'm not on his side. From what I've read though, some random person is just accusing Mr Snipes of doing this with zero proof or corroboration. Apparently this person was thought to be the one who'd caused Ms Berry's hearing loss, and now he's trying to shift the blame onto Wesley Snipes

Now, is it possible Snipes DID do it? Sure. But there is a clear motive for this third party to lie about it as well

Fuck Snipes. Dude has been living in oblivion for the past ten years minus the Blade franchise. He's a racist, women-beating, tax evading whore who hasn't done a single stunt in over a decade.

It's silly to defend him on hitting Berry too. A lot of folks thought it was David Justice but many suspected Snipes. It fits his MO.
