Abraham Lincoln books

I'm pretty sure there are others on here who read about a movie project and immediately start looking for some reading material, especially a movie that is based on an historical event or person. Since the announcement earlier today (Spielberg to begin filming next year with Daniel Day-Lewis) I have been dusting off some books I have on Lincoln and to my dismay I only have three!

The Gettysburg Gospel by Gabor Boritt (Amazon link)

A. Lincoln by Ronald C. White Jr. (Amazon link)

Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin (Amazon link)

Does anyone have some suggestions on other reading material on Lincoln?

It's an odd one to recommend, but the Francis Fisher Browne bit that's public domain is a really great read. Also, none of this "modern prism" stuff that can put an authorial stamp nowadays as it was compiled in the 1880s.

Ancillary, but mandatory, Lincoln reading: Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer.

'Lincoln President-Elect: Abraham Lincoln and the Great Secession Winter 1860-1861' by Harold Holzer.

And if you can find it, Carl Sanburg's 6 volume set is, IMO, the quintessential Lincoln biography.

I love Lincoln's Greatest Speech: The Second Inaugural by Ronald C. White, Jr. I have always been fascinated by Reconstruction and could things have been 'fixed' had Lincoln lived. It's the Dark Knight question: Did he die before he could become the villain? I have always wondered the same about Kennedy.

In the same breath, I enjoy biographies of Lyndon Johnson and Bobby Kennedy, as cases of decision making and what could have been, respectively.

I'm embarrassed to say that Lincoln: The Biography of a Writer is the only Lincoln book I've read in full, but some of the suggestions thus far look very interesting.
