As long as Craig Sheffer gets to star. (I think I'm his only fan.)

Loathed him in Hellraiser: Inferno. But even Ian McKellan couldn't have saved that.
Wouldn't that have been because he actually did a halfway decent job in Inferno (still the only halfway decent film I know featuring this Pinhead character)? His character was supposed to be loathsome to an extent, though not completely irredeemable. A surprisingly complex and convincing characterization for what I was expecting to be just another horror sequel.

Best movie of the series, easily.

I'm more and more shocked at these favorable reactions to Inferno. Did these folks see the same movie I did? It's unwatchable. (Though watch it I did, from beginning to end and you're right, it's laugh-out loud, unintentionally funny.) The movie is barely coherent and amateurishly written, shot and edited.

Scheffer is terrible and I don't mean that he's "playing an unlikeable character," I mean his performance is reminiscent of something a drunk Richard Grieco might do. Terrible across the board.

I'd asked Clive about a Nightbreed sequel seven or eight years ago and at that point he thought the only sequel we'd ever see might be in book form. I suppose the TV thing is possible, especially if Saint Sinner does any good for The Sci-Fi Channel. Maybe he's got some development deals on the burner, who knows? This is the cable network that did Dune afterall.

Drunk Richard Grieco in a Nightbreed sequel would be cool...

Nightbreed 2 hooh hah what?? Bring it on. I'm still waiting for that extra footage to show up on a dvd from the first one.

I like how that chopping block artist says, "I drew Rex as I had always envisioned him." when he's clearly stolen the football shaped head from the epic comic version of the story. Sucker...

By the way... SAINT SINNER THIS SATURDAY!!! SCI FI CHANNEL!

If making it for TV gives Barker the creative freedom to make a proper Nightbreed sequel then I'm all for it. TV doesn't have to equal crap.

I'd settle for the directors cut of Nightbreed we were supposed to get this year. The 30 minutes of cut footage was found in a film vault and bought by the company that put out the bare bones DVD last year. There was talk of Danny Elfman coming in and doing more music for it, a Barker commentary track...and then nothing. Maybe Anchor Bay can pick it up someday if they aren't going to do it.

Speaking of Richard Grieco, who here is looking forward to 'Samhain' as much as me? Grieco, some porn stars, blood..what more is there?

Teen Agent 2?

Is that the UK name for 'If Looks Could Kill'? Because if it is, I have to agree...

Shefer was great in Inferno. Actually, I enjoyed Inferno ton'sz more than Hellraiser 3 and 4, which were "Jesus KEE-RIST" laughably bad. Inferno was Pacasio compared to those 2 pieces of trash.

Nightbreed 2 would be great. As long as Shefer was back as Boone, then I would also love to see it happen.

Hellraiser 3 and 4 were Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers compared to Inferno.

I don't understand how you can be serious? I mean, Hellraiser 3 was gawd-awful. The acting was grade L crap, and the story made no sense. When did Pinhead get stuck in a staue and more importantly HOW? I'm sorry, but "My evil was too powerful to contain" doesn't cut it for an answer.
The nurse at the begining was stroking the operating blades like they were a cock. Why?

The actors..ugh! All sucked! The two main actresses were robots, the guy who played J.P. Monroe? The guy couldn't even do a bad Mark Whalburg- he barely did a f*cking terrible Mark Whalburg. And Hulk Hogan turned camera man was laughable too.

And the directing..LOL my friends and I made a drinking game out of it! Next time you see it, take a shot whenever the camera ZOOMs in on an actor. You could be taking shots of Zima and you'll be wasted by the time the movie is over.

The dioluge! I mean even Pinhead had ran out of things to say and was recycling qoutes from the first two Hellraisers and twisting them around so he sounded like he had something new to say.

Pinhead himself. I know! Let's ruin the integrity of such a great character and turn him into a wise-cracking Freddy Kruger knock-off!

Hellraiser 3 stunk like a tiolet that hadn't been flushed for 3 weeks.

As for Bloodline, where do I begin? The idea was a different concept, but the characters were plain and one dimentional. The laser guns against Pinhead were more funny than anything else. and too many flaws with the story. I could go on, but I sould have to watch it again to clarify my points, and trust me, sitting through Bloodlines again isn't worth it.

Something that made 3 watchable for me was the awesome art gallery in the Club owners home.

And 4 was watchable due to the slight delving into the toy maker origins of the box which I found very interesting. Also the architecture with the box designs were cool. Story wise they were pure junk. This is soley due to Clive abandoning his wicked child. He could have helped give a hand in the screenplay process. Instead circus monkeys were left with a typewriter to configure the remaining plots after the 2nd.

I think that was a play on the idea of masichism (did I spell that right?) How pain is pleasure to some. Therefore the pain bringers would be seen as angels giving pleasure thru pain.

It was like this pathetic attempt to be a gritty film-noir detective that just came off as laugh out loud hilarious. The folks I watched it with couldn't stop laughing at the end when he looked right at the camera and screamed, "NOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Boy, folks sure are easily amused these days.

Vague quibbles aside, Inferno was the only Hellraiser movie to raise even the slightest degree of viewer empathy. What you incorrectly label a "pathetic attempt at a gritty film-noir detective" is actually the closest this mostly lame-assed series has gotten to something resembling a character.

Inferno is the only film of the bunch that, for its numerous flaws, manages sometimes to be frightening and mysterious and not simply a further stepping stone in this Pinhead character's career towards immortalization as an action figure and free McDonalds' Happy Meal giveaway.

If you hated Hellraiser and Pinhead so much, why did you watch Hellraiser 5? Children of the Corn 7 may be great but I'll never know because I refuse to watch any of that series after the first one.

Actually, I've heard that Children of the Corn Part 4 is the one to see. Plus, it's got Naomi Watts!

I now return control of this Nightbreed sequel thread to those who are discussing Hellraiser sequels.

Don't be sorry -- talk about Hellraiser if you want. I was just feeling left out cuz I haven't seen any Hellraiser sequels past number 2.

I'd like to see 3 for Terry Farrell, and 5 sounds weird enough to be interesting. I don't have any love for Pinhead and his pals, so their minimal screen time probably wouldn't piss me off.

I tried watching Bloodlines on TV once, but I couldn't get through the gothic Anne Rice style story. Bor-ing

As for Nightbreed, I loved the set-up. The mystery of Boone's identity and the Cronenberg serial killer. Once we went underground and saw all the miserable creatures who felt prejudiced against, it became less interesting. And then the battle scenes were pretty silly too. I love Danny Elfman's music though. And there is enough material there for a potential series or sequel.

Why don't we just say I'm right, all you Inferno-lovin' freaks are wrong...
Whoa, whoa...I never said I loved Inferno. More like, I dislike it the least of all the Hellraiser movies I've seen so far.

One thing I'll agree with you on: the Pinhead's moralizing, now that you remind me about it, was snoozeworthy cheeze.

However, things pick back up a little with the ending, which had a nice punchy nightmarish feel not found in any of the other Hellraisers.
