Gifts end up coming at all times during December. Just open it when it gets there. Nobody's stopping you if you wanna be the boyscout who waits till the 25th, though.
I'm waiting 'til black friday before purchasing my gift. Here's hoping that it will be on sale somewhere.
Mine shall be purchased in Friday, when i get paid.....for the first time in six months!!!!

Not that i'm looking forward to it or anything...
Got Rene (Mr.Eko) package(damn fast delivery) and I wasn't going to wait till Xmas to open. Glad I didn't.

Criterion Dazed and Confused-This is one of the movies I can endlessly watch. I can't wait to dip into the extras. I'm going to watch the shit out of this.

Taken-Revenge movies are some of my favorites. Will go perfect with a Man on Fire double feature.

Hot Tub Time Machine-great theater experience with this. Can't wait to revisit.

Great choices. Thanks alot.
You're welcome, Anawatchin Angel! Glad to hear the package got to you so quickly, and that you dig the movies. Enjoy and Merry Early Christmas!

Jared Melton comes through with The Ultimate Matrix set on Blu-Ray!

Rock and ROLL!
GAH! Ripoll's first one made it here today...but still waiting for the second one. Going to be patient and wait until they're both here to open...but it's going to be difficult.

And theres apparently a second package on the way. Way to make Jesus and Santa look like clowns, dude.

Holy shit, that was fast! You must of really wanted those movies bad, as the stronger your desire the easier it is for them to come (and presumably deliver you gifts before showing you sights, such terrible sights...)

Guys guys guys PICTURES.
Part one of Belethedheliel has been ordered, part 2 and three need collecting on Thursday. Fingers crossed I got it right.

I just got my haul from Parker, and what a haul!

I am both a huge fan of Community and a Johnny-Come-Lately who only started watching from Contemporary American Poultry on, so I actually missed most of Season 1. I'm very excited to not only finally watch all the episodes I missed, but to dig into the special features. Crown jewel of the package.

My favorite column by my favorite writer on one of my favorite sites. This is a book I really wanted to own but was too cheap to bring myself to pay for. Can't wait to read the all new entries, as well as the revamped old ones.

I actually just saw this movie for the first time last night, after borrowing it from a friend. I love it, like I love all Mamet films (which I've been catching up with lately), and don't even have the problems with the ending that many people have. Great to own it.

Thanks a lot, Parker!

Glad I did okay! I'm sorry you just saw Redbelt, I was hoping to beat you to the punch with that one. But hey, now you own it. And it rocks, so the next time you feel like watching it, it will be yours to own like the precious Redbelt itself.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Eileen's stuff came early! It couldn't have come at a better time, too. Having a tough day and this Saturday will be my second funeral in as many weeks.

So I was so touched by Eileen's generosity. She really outdid herself, I don't know what else to say.

Epic book that both contains Twain's autobiography but also analyzes it. My mom once told me I was distantly related to Twain and I've always been fascinated by him, so I'm looking forward to reading more about his life from his point of view.

One of my favorite westerns and I've never even owned it on DVD. Can't wait to re-watch it.

Just an essential blu-ray, really. The transfer is glorious.

(DRAG ME TO HELL cover --- Picture redacted because I can't have four images!)

Been meaning to pick this up since it came out but never got the chance. What a great triple feature these will make!!!

Eileen, seriously, I can't thank you enough. Hope you have a wonderful holiday and thanks for kicking off the season right for me.

Shit everyone is outdoing themselves this year.

You are most welcome Parker and I'm so happy you enjoyed what I picked out. Pleased also that you got the package earlier than expected.

Holy Shit! Teitr Styrr is my hero. I really have no words. I've been a broke doctoral student as long as I can remember and thus have not joined the Blu-Ray revolution... until now! Teitr bought me a Blu-Ray player and the Blu-Ray disc of Metropolis, and he said "there is more to come". Thanks again, Teitr. Chewers once again show their generosity to complete strangers. I am speechless.

Wow!
Yeah, that's kind of amazing.
I'm glad you like it Diva, but the really good stuff is on the way...

God damn, that's awesome. Congrats Diva, and big ups to Teitr Styr for being a generous mofo.

This shit right here is why I love participating in the gift exchange every year.

Teitr, Christ man, way to make us all look bad...

Seriously, though, you are the man.
I caved and opened the first of two packages from Ripoll. Here's what was waiting:

I've never seen it, and I've been following the "older movies" thread closely. Very much looking forward to filling in my film education. Thank you, Patrick - unexpected and damn awesome.

Alright Teitr, I don't know you to look at you, BUT BITCH THIS SHIT IS MOTHERFUCKING ON.

NO ONE outspends me on gift exchange. Justin, prepare for RAPE.
Oh my.
Teitr is such an asshole.

And Michael, you said you were into Theology, and The Passion of Joan of Arc is probably the best movie about faith I've ever seen. Your second gift, however, won't be nearly so high-brow.
Diva, what was your reaction when you opened that present? That's pretty incredible!

Everyone's gifts have been wonderful. Makes me wish I got involved with this in years past. I love the holidays.

Grinning on both counts. The story of Joan of Arc certainly raises a lot of questions relating to faith. I look forward to seeing what the film brings to it.

And anticipating part 2!

Man, Tati, I was not expecting this.

(Sorry about the quality of the photo, I've yet to master how to take a good picture with my cellphone indoors)

Thanks a whole lot. I look forward to making my way though the entire Scott Pilgrim set, it was quite a surprise and I can't say thank you enough. I've recently been searching used book store trying to locate some graphic novel modern classics and this is like striking gold. I'll start reading them as soon as I finish Watchmen.

I also would like to thank Tati for the dvd of The Aura, the film sound like a great mindfuck of a movie that is just up my alley.

On a side note, it looks like everyone is stepping up their game this year, and I hope Chris Olson will like what I have planned for him, because it will fit right in with the trend.

Yeah, I was pretty flabbergasted. He asked me my likes/dislikes. I said I liked Sci-Fi, robots, and movies that tackles existential/social issues. Hence the Metropolis DVD, which I have yet to see and am super psyched to. I also mentioned that if he was getting DVDs not to splurge on Blu-Rays because I didn't have a Blu-Ray player. He mentioned that he'd have to get me one, which I totally blew off as a joke. Egg on face. Never underestimate Chewers. I'm truly grateful.

And to echo you and others, all of the gifts so far have been stellar. I've participated in every exchange so far and this one is by far one of the most generous. Usually, people receive one or two DVDs or books, not whole anthologies and collections. Everyone has stepped up their game big time.

And Ludwig, it's not a contest! Your gift is more than generous, though I'm sure Justin will appreciate your manhood.

Glad you enjoyed!
I'm having a pretty excellent end of the year and i really wanted to give back to the community that gave so much to me in previous years. I was afraid you (like many people) already had the Scott Pilgrim books, glad that wasn't the case. Prepare to love them.

The Aura is, in my opinion, probably the best Argentinian movie ever made. Hope you like it!

And yeah, this year everyone is just stepping up their game. Which is awesome. 2010 will be a hallmark in which other years will be measured against regarding Chewers generosity.
You guys are crazy. Crazy awesome!

How come I haven't jumped onto this tab!? That's 3 years it's passed me by!

Oooooooooh shit. I'm sure I'm going to love it, no matter what it is.

Only now, I'm thinking I need to get some more packages sent DJ Dylan's way, just so I don't look like a chump. God damn, this is fun!

We keep upping each other's game and we are going to end up like Oprah. Let's see who's the first to get a car!

Nobody ever found rape under their chair during a taping of Oprah, Tati. I dont know whether that means we win or not.
I love you guys. And I told you that was gonna go over like gangbusters, Tati. Ludwig's isn't anywhere near as extravagant as some (well, all) of these gifts but I think he'll like it all the same.
Sleeplesslumber: wait until you see 'El Aura'. You're in for a real treat with that one.

Oh, C'mon. Silly joke. I've loved every single gift i've received from small to huge. And it's not the $$ that counts! Never was, never will.

It's not???? Frick, I've got to get that yacht returned. Sorry, Eileen!
