I've never seen this, but it sounds a bit like The Family Stone, in that it's a seasonal movie (featuring Clare Danes) that's somewhere between blandness and greatness. Seems worth checking out.

"Shawn Hatosy Completists" is the term of the day, by the way.

While Planes Trains and Automobiles was and will always be my go-to Thanksgiving movie, this is on my check-it-out-soon list. I think too big of a deal was made of Jodie Foster directing this - especially right after Little Man Tate draaaaaaagged its way through theaters. I'm sure it turned a few folks off.

As for Guttenberg, I can never truly hate him after he was in one of the not-one-but-two retardedly accidentally funny movies from the 90's called Airborne. Steve Guttenberg as an action hero.
