I think Franco has a good sense of humor, whereas Hathaway can not only sing, but is also gorgeous to boot.
It's simple, as was said before, these shows need a ringmaster, someone who can judge the mood in the room and improvise (Conan, Jon Stewart etc.), not a pair of actors who'll stare at a telelprompter. If they're gonna do that they might as well get anyone.
