He was down here visiting the Universal parks and he looked in pretty good spirits:

Good to see him improving. Not my favorite actor, but in the right role he really can do quite well and I hope that he sees a swift recovery. I know three separate people with cancer right now, it's terrible stuff. My thoughts go out to his family

It's throat cancer. Good fact checking.

Kinda figured the guy who spent hours with him would know.

Douglas is all kinds of classy as far as I'm concerned, I've been a massive fan of his since I was young fella and was introduced to the coolness of Jack T Colton. Since then I've followed his career almost anywhere (except maybe his 'no really, I'm a sex symbol' phase).

The news he's coming through this makes me all sorts of happy.

This news makes me glad all over. Douglas is the tits.

Excellent news. Reminds me to finally check out his collaboration with Peter Hyams, THE STAR CHAMBER

I have a real soft spot for the Douglas family unit. They seem to have cut through all the celebrity bullshit and raised eyebrows that such a marriage would usually provoke and just come across like a regular happy-to-be-together family.

I have a nice Michael Douglas story. He and Catherine support a local charity in Wales and they recently visited. I was in WHSmith (a newsagent chain) and an arm reached out beside me and it was Douglas. I wish I could tell you I was cool and collected but I literally hid and watched him like Creepy McCreeperson. He looked tired and was clearly trying to avoid folk but still smiled and said hello when peopled waved. A very gracious guy.

I wish I'd been cooler. As Andrew mentioned I admire the two of them very much.

Yeah by all accounts the man is a class act, glad to hear he may be on the mend.

I met him during the grand opening of Islands of Adventure. Him and his kids had come to see the Triceratops Encounter, and he was hanging at the back of the room while his kids watched the show. He looked pretty tired, but he was extremely pleasant to everyone, and when I mentioned it looked like he hadn't gotten much sleep, he just smiled and said, "I'm just here for the kids." And it was genuine; he didn't care about being tired as long as his kids were having a good time. Class act. In stark contrast to some of the other celebs who rolled through that day.
