OK, these 3 questions have been on my mind for years now, and no matter how hard I look, I can never find an answer. Maybe you guys can provide some insight.
1. Why do we not have a Special Edition or some other "good" version of Bram Stoker's Dracula? The Laserdisc was packed with extra features, and the DVD has nothing. Whats worse, is they released the Superbit version of the film, and to be quite honest, I dont see much difference. I own both and both transfers and audio mixes are excellent but I cant really say the superbit version is any better. So again, why is Columbia/Tri-Star so stupid? What sense does it make to have a packed LD but a weak DVD?
2. Why do they not make Fright Night 2 on DVD? I own the original and its a surprisingly good transfer. However, the sequel in my opinion was a damn good movie. So why wont they release it?
3. Heres a hidden gem for ya. Anyone ever see a quiet little cult classic called Trick or Treat? My brother owns a VHS copy and I think hes the only one in my entire city that has it. Thats one of the most hard to find films ever. Its one of those its-so-bad-its-good movies. Ive seen it about 1,000 times and cannot get sick of it. There is a R2 DVD available in the UK, but where is the US version? Youd think someone like MGM who is famous for putting out old classics would grab this one. I can only hope...
Can any of you guys help to answer any of this stuff?
