Dead Nation

This new PSN game is pretty cool. The very similar Zombie Apocalypse also used a two-stick control scheme, but in that game pushing right fired automatically.

Here, R1 pulls the trigger. The combination of using the left stick to move, the right stick to aim, and the trigger to fire felt, at first, a bit like simultaneously patting my head and rubbing my stomach. The controls don't sound different from any 1st-person shooter, but from an overhead perspective I found it tricky initially.

I adjusted and made it through the first two levels. It's very fun, frantic, and looks great. You can upgrade your armor and weapons, and use cars as bombs. Just check the trunks for money first. A surprisingly robust economy survived the end of the world.

Oh hey, another fucking zombie game. Why can't they change things up and let you kill bipedal kittens or kangaroos.

Dig it though, the upgrade system seperates it from those two other twinstick zombie games I've already played (3 if you count the Black Ops one). Waiting to see if anyone else on my friends list nabs it to try out the coop.

My roommate picked this up the other day and I've been playing some. Pretty fun, but I'd like to do some coop sometime.
