This is the closest we'll get to a Mannheim Steamroller movie. Thank God that line was never crossed.

1) Thanks for putting that goddam song into my head. I still like and respect you, but this will not be forgotten, Rappe.

2) My Dad was a trucker (CB handle Fast Cookies...) so I was the kid who got a toy from a faraway land (like... Tennessee!) when he came back from long trips. That and the fact that I was born at the right time meant that I got to watch... this damn movie... soooo many times as a child. He was the gearhead, and I turned out to be the artist despite his saturation therapy of Kris Kristofferson and C.W. McCall. To this day I think his heart is broken that I never mastered the controls of his CB base station.

Here's the crazy thing: I don't remember a lick of it other than the fact that Rubber Duck's name was... well, Rubber Duck, and that Ali MacGraw's teeth scared the shit out of me. I will have to revisit one night, preferably one night when my Dad's visiting. Maybe we can heal the rift.
