Odd that the only person in the cast that concerns me so far is the guy with the most experience. He's got decades on Levitt, Blunt, and Dano, but it always feels like a coin toss with Wills, with not particularly promising odds. However, he is ocassionally roused from his ""I'm old, rich, and don't give a fuck" stupor by the right kind of filmmaker and hopefully Johnson will be that guy.

What I'd really like to see is some aggressive marketing muscle behind whatever Looper ends up being, but despite the cast (which one would think puts the product at advantage for obvious reasons) I doubt that's going to happen.

This has a vague flavor of the famously unproduced "Gemini Man," in which an aging ex-spy is pursued by the 30-years-younger version of himself (played by the same actor, digitally de-aged), and I recall Willis being one of the names that was being thrown around as a possibility.

As Johnny says, it'd be nice if the project actually commands Willis' interest, not just his presence.

Too cool!

This sounds incredible and I can't wait to see what Johnson does with a sci fi time travel film. BB was a slight disappointment for me, but that probably had more to do with my own astronomical expectations than any flaw found in the film itself, and I feel nothing but anticipation for the chance to see his next flick

My one hesitation would be Willis, who can be good but lately has been phoning it in, and worse, I can't really picture him delivering Johnson's dialog. It's gratifying to see Levitt return to work with his colleague, but I fear Willis might end up pulling a 'LAST BOY SCOUT'*

*Where Shane Black supposedly felt that Willis was too glum and grumbly for his quick witted dialog

PS Still hoping Carruth makes the film about the cult of Pythagoras his next movie. That would be a dream come true for me

This just keeps sounding cooler and cooler. It'd be great for this to push Johnson into mainstream recognition. Can't wait.

I'm reacting the same way when I found out that Willis was being cast in Wes Anderson's new film: I hope Johnson can coax a good performance out of him, because he's been sleepwalking through roles almost as long as De Niro has.

I also hope that Willis doesn't try to tell anyone how to do their jobs on set. I've heard that he's been doing that a bit lately.

he should do something with David O.Russel. new viral video for sure

I like the concept, and can't wait to see what comes of it
