Me too. This item put me in a much better mood. Thanks!

This is an excellent & crucial document of the early scene (though Letts loses his way once he hits the 90s). I had this DVD on repeat for weeks when it first came out in 2005. A must have.

I'm definitely gonna have to check this out. I've had a love-hate relationship with punk ever since the late nineties, when everyone had their own adamant idea of what purity test something had to pass in order to be punk. Maybe this will help me finally fall back into or fully out of love.

Just found out today this was dropping (then saw it on the main page). I'm all over this.

Having an adamant idea of what purity test something has to pass in order to be punk isn't punk. So I'd say, feel free to embrace the music again. Don't let the exclusionists get between you and awesomeness.

Yeah were there a shitload of knickers in twists for a while, mostly as a reaction to the likes of Blink 182 and Good Charlotte. But you don't want to go letting other people affect your opinion of art and entertainment if you can help it. There's no point hating stuff just because there are dickheads who love it.

This sounds fantastic and the ringing endorsements above only sweeten the deal.

It's the very antithesis of punk. What makes it all the worse is when people with Clash badges/patches refuse to accept anything other than a 1 minute power chord angst-blast as punk. You'd think these people who make it their defining characteristic would have thought about it enough to understand something so glaringly obvious.

I don't hate the music, it just gets tiresome listening to hypocrites preach about how bad a particular band is or how they've sold out. Sometimes the bands themselves get in on this as well (nice knowing you, NoFX - it was fun while it lasted). Believe me, if I purchased music based on others' opinions, I wouldn't own any of the latter Green Day albums, haha.

Yeah one of the problems I have with some "punks" these days is that they won't give the time of day to bands like Television or the Talking Heads.
