Yep. Nothing is less sexy than trying too hard to be sexy.

I don't even want strawberries after seeing that, and I love strawberries!

Everyone knows fire engine red hair and strawberries don't go together!

I'm all over the cover shot. The rest look kind of ridiculous.
Yeah, the fishnet shots are the hotness, the others not so much.

"Elaborately tattooed, Rhianna has reinvented herself as a fierce sexual adventurer."

Fuck this planet. Can we just give it to the the cats or the wombats or something already?

Don't worry Jacob, we're breathlessly rushing to the cliff of our own demise like the lemmings we are while we blind ourselves with this kind of nonsense that it'll be theirs soon enough my friend.

Something has to give with this nonsense. It may be redundant, but I don't think it's puritan of me to complain that I am bored to death of seeing every other popular female singer / musician build their career on a tacky sexed up image.

Yeah but what? There's hardly going to be a corporate backlash against the concept of 'sex sells', and the next Janis Joplin's gonna need a serious makeover before anyone lets her near Mtv.

When it comes to pop, music is ancillary to branding JJ - all you can do is personally ignore it, shit aint gonna change, it'll just get worse until this current period looks quaint in retrospect.

Yeah, most of these celebs look better during random public appearances than in a lot of professional pictorials. I don't know if it's the photoshop gloss or the overdone hair and makeup, but there's some manufactured, generic quality that doesn't appeal to me.

Trying too hard? Maybe. But I wouldn't throw her out of bed for eating strawberries/crackers/knuckle sandwiches.

I would tend to agree with you, but then I think of Katy Perry...

...I'm sorry. Where was I?
