James Franco as Ares? I love that man, but...the fuck?

Wrath Of The Titans, sounds cool. I loved the first one, so I am definitely up for more...TITANic action.

I'm all for it. The first film had lots of potential but was botched as hell. If they get it right, it could be fantastic.

Is Lame Borington still set to star?

Lame Borington. I'm so clever, I crack myself up.

If we get 2 hours of the last 15 minutes of the first flick, I'm down.

I thought Franco was playing Agenor and Bardem was Ares. Seemed like a better fit too.

Probably a typo. I can get behind that if it's the other way around.

Isn't there a good movie somewhere in CLASH? Supposedly leterrier was forced to omit some good scenes which would have improved it.

Typo, sorry guys.

The first movie was terrible; Worthington was wooden, he fell in love with Io instead of Andromeda (wtf), and that Medusa scene was bored and deprived of any suspense. Oh, and the climax with the Kraken was a yawner, as well. I'm not sure why WB decided to make a sequel anyway, and thinking that a improved 3D presentation is all that they need to make it better than the first movie.

Well, the deleted scenes that are available cover a signficant portion of the subplot with the other gods on Olympus, and I thought it actually made the movie much worse with painful acting and some pretty contrived drama. There would have to be a hell of a lot of good material to compensate for the rest of the film.

He spent time with Io, it actually makes more sense for him to fall in love with her rather than Andromeda who he spent about five minutes with. He already had the revenge plot so he didn't really need Andromeda as the reason for the quest. The rest, is true, though WB is making a sequel since the first made a bunch of money (internationally).

Still, you'd think it wouldn't be that hard to remake Clash of the Titans decently, but evidently not.

As long as I don't feel like I'm watching a video game the whole time the sequel can only be an improvement. Seriously I was subconsciously hitting the X button every time Worthington flew under one of The Kraken's tentacles.

Personally, I don't understand the need to introduce Io anyway, but I think one of my biggest problem about COTT is that I was hoping they'd make a more faithful adaptation of Perseus' heroic journey in the remake, since the original wasn't exactly accurate with the Greek mythology. But the remake ended up disregarding even more of the mythology of Perseus, and what was supposed to be an uplifting climatic battle to destroy Kraken and save Andromeda turned out to be rather anticlimatic imo. I doubt I'll be interested to check out the sequel, as well.

I really wanted to like the first one, but in the end felt it was a big let down. I saw all the deleted scenes on the DVD, and I wish they had made the final cut. The creepy, lecherous Zeus of mythology is far more interesting than the 'fatherly' character Neeson ended up having to play in the theatrical cut. The 'politics' between the gods and the scenes set on Mt Olympus were fascinating, and it's a shame they'll be unable to use that material (and the.. complicated.. relationship between Perseus and Zeus as originally written in the script) as a jumping off point for the sequel. I am not sure where they could go with this story that would hold my interest, at this point, since they've gotten so far away from the spirit of the original myths that the whole thing threatened to devolve into generic fantasy. Probably they'd have to bring Alexander Isotheos into the mix, and have him plotting to take over Olympus from his estranged father! Short of that? I'll just have wait to hear more before I can say that I feel one way or another about this project

A new director is probably as good a place to start as any though

Agreed. Also we live in a time where there are 5 Fast and Furious films and 4 Resident Evil films. I can't argue with them trying to make another one of these.

Oh and Io rocks bring it on.

Calm your storm, indeed.

I hope they come up with a better tag line than Titans will wrath.

Touche.

Wrath of the Worthington just doesn't quite cut it. Hopefully Danny Huston doesn't show up as Poseidon only to have all his scenes cut again.

Ha, how do you think Alexander Siddig feels?
Heh Alexander Siddig is still fuming from his little screen time in 24 and Reign of Fire!
I hope they cast a load of super-charismatic guys to follow Worthington around and then kill them all off forty minutes before the end of the film. That worked so well in the first one.
I like Worthington, and after hearing of the atrocious post converted 3D, I went to see the 2D showing of the first one and really liked it a lot. I'll be seeing Wrath Of The Titans for sure.

Hehe... Lame Borington...
Yeah, maybe it was my desperately low expectations, but I liked the Clash remake. Glaring faults and all. So, I'm inclined to be mildly excited about a sequel. I'm silly like that.
