Pop quiz. Which Elaine is more attractive? Elaine in the earlier seasons or Elaine in the later seasons.
Hands down -- late seasons Elaine. They figured out how to dress her and how to do her hair. She hasnt looked as good since.

I'm not sure about 'attractive,' but I always found the frazzled, big-haired Elaine more appealing.

Late season Elaine has nothing on Extras Elaine from the DVD's. And Maggie Lizer is hotter still. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is definitely getting better with age.

I'd have to say I find later season Elaine...breath-taking

The backwards episode with the final encounter with Kramer is great. I loved the way they handled Puddy in the late seasons.
Late Elaine is more confident but I loved her big hair. She is like an old wine.
I watched all the run on syndication but in chronological order so it was a blast progressing from more "standard" stuff to "hole in one" style episodes. Also, local cable aired the specials with behind the scenes and thematic' compilations.

If you watch the extras they go on and on about how Larry David was such a stickler for continuity and whereas he voiced Newman in his first episode, they had Wayne Knight redub the voice for syndication.

They even re-shot scenes for the wheelchair replacement episode when the actor who originally played Frank Costanza was replaced by Jerry Stiller.

There are a few other instances but one that has always bugged me is that they used two actors for the character of Lloyd Braun and never reshot his scenes.

But bringing up Loyd Braun from the Frozen Yogurt episode, they didn't know who was going to win the election between Giuliani and Dinkins so they shot the whole episode twice. Giuliani was a fan of the show so he agreed to shoot the scenes that he did. Mayor Dinkins did not and so they had an actor read the lines we hear from Giuliani as a spokesman for Mayor Dinkins.

That "spokesman" was happy that Giuliani won because that meant that he could return later in the show's run as Jackie Chiles.

Ever since I bought the boxset for my girlfriend last Christmas during an Amazon sale, I watch at least one episode of Seinfeld every single day, usually when I'm eating lunch. This must be the "comfort" certain Christians talk about when they say they read the Bible all the time. Well, at least my gospel is funny. :-)

Today, I watched the episode in which Elaine breaks up with the perfect guy -- played by JAG's David James Elliott -- because he's pro-life. What network comedy today would do abortion humor? And this is the first time I realized that the argument about when a pizza is a pizza between Kramer and Poppie was Seinfeld's take on the whole "When does life begin?" debate. Really great stuff.

As someone who came to Seinfeld through re-runs, I watched them all out of order, and while the later seasons have a different tone, I don't think they're lesser than the earlier seasons. They go into far more absurd territories, and are a bit less subtle, but some of my favorites are from the later seasons.

Elaine walking around in that lowcut black dress was a pivotal moment in my adolescense. It only got better from there.

The show is absolutely brilliant with it's use of subversive humor, they never directly attack it such as with 'The Contest', even when they do like in 'The Opera', it's still hilarious.

I've been doing a rewatch of the entire series over the past couples months and I'm nearing the end of season nine. Throughout highschool I think I saw just about every episode, but never in order. Watching it sequentially, I can't believe just how much continuity there is in the show or the fact that there were actually season long story arcs. Whereas I liked it before, I definitely have to say that Seinfeld really is the best sitcom. And that's not even going into the thematic elements of the show.

The focus on continuity is all Larry David. He made sure everything fit in properly, and that there would be great payoffs toward the end of the season.

Seinfeld will always be my favorite sitcom of all time.

Not to mention the previously-mentioned wheelchair replacement. I guess it's a little tame these days, but there was obvious glee on the part of everyone involved in trying to say the most insensitive things about handicapped people they could get away with. "She's probably one of these lazy handicapped people, never wants to do any work..."

I honestly always had a little teenage crush on early, spastic, de-glammed Elaine. She's just so damn cute with her giant sneakers and big wall of hair.

Yeah, gimme early seasons Elaine too.

Sure late season Elaine is nothing to turn your nose up at but the carachter changed when she went to work for Peterman. She got kind of a nasty edge.

I do love the supporting characters in this show, Frank & Estelle, Puddy, Newman.

Frank & Estelle in particular, their comic timing is amazing.

The weirdest Elaine moment ever, was after the med student dumps her, she goes to Jerry to get laid. After he turns her down, she asks if George or Kramer are around. So yeah, there was a moment when she would have banged George.

as a 27 year old, growing up, i hated it. or so i thought. turns out (as stated above) I only hated the characters, not the show itself.

that said, the funniest part in the whole series was when Jerry locked his door that one time and Kramer slams right into it. dunno why, just laughed so hard i nearly sharted

Is it weird that I sometimes feel like talking to my wife like Frank Constanza? "WHY DO YOU KEEP BOTHERING ME WHILE I'M TRYING TO EAT?"

I've already told her we're going to be one of those old couples where the wife will ask someone a question, then she'll look at me and say, "What did they say?" and I will repeat the person's question by yelling.
