JaySus is pretty great, so is immersive armor/weapons. Winter is Coming - Cloaks isn't bad either when you run Wet & Cold along with Climates of Tamriel. You get proper blizzards with snow blind and a penalty to movement. I installed another mod, I can't remember the name, that makes snow accumulate on your character and companions too. Have you tried SkyUI? or Immersive HUD? Or any other cosmetic mods? I just put A Quality World Map in and I find myself looking at the maps and follow the roads a lot more with my compass turned completely off. It's cool to just saunter along on the horse and see what sort of trouble you run into. The Skyrim Redone mod isn't bad either, it changes a lot of the vanilla settings in the game, adds a shit ton of perks to the skill trees, etc.
If you're a glutton for punishment install Skyrim Redone, Dangerous Dragons and the Dovarkiid mods. DD and Dovar add more variety to the dragons and make them an actual threat, especially at low levels. You'll never run across a group of bandits or a few giants taking one out in the wild again, just the bodies and all the scorch marks from the roasting. Dovar adds around ten new named dragons that are ridiculous.
I haven't had any crashes yet on PC, I had way more on PS3. I had a little trouble with latency but I got that all ironed out.
Are you running any hotkey mods Lauren? It's nice to be able to just hit a key instead of having to go into your menu and switch up your dragon shouts mid-fight.
This playthrough I've been pretty big on just taking my time, enjoying it and what the mods have to offer, which is a shit ton for stuff that's made by every day Joes that just love the game.
