I was very excited to see the American Reunion movie. I saw American Pie just after college and remembered it was quite funny.
Jim, Michelle, Oz, Heather, Stifler reunite for their high school...
Say what you will about Burlesque, it is at least a musical or a comedy, which the other nominees are not. They nominated Alice and Red over Toy Story 3, Other Guys, and yeah, True Grit.

Over Scott Fucking Pilgrim which is both a comedy AND a musical of sorts.
Hell, you could make a case for BLACK SWAN as a musical if you wanted to stretch category boundaries. But, seriously, we've always known the Globes were star fuckers. Hypothesis confirmed.
As cool as it is that Jackie Weaver got nominated its really too bad that the actor who play the insane uncle has generally been forgotten. He makes a pretty compelling evil guy. But then again Animal Kingdom is one of the my favorites of the year and I wish it got nominated for a lot more.
MEREDITH VIERA: So how did you find out about your nomination?
JAMES FRANCO: Barry at Fox Searchlight texted me. He's my text message friend, we send each other photos of fat animals.
VIERA: Okay...
Why I love James Franco.

The reactions I've heard have been near-hyperbolic expressions of adoration, but they were all talking about the acting. I agree that the play itself isn't cinematic. The play isn't very "theatrical" either. It just is . . . I am dying to see that film.

Why is it that Depp got two nominations, but DiCaprio got none? I thought DiCaprio's performances in Shuttered Island and Inception were better than Depp's Alice and Tourist stint.
Notes from the read:
-Shoulda nominated The Winklevi over Garfield.
-There’s been nothing but praise regarding the TSN screenplay with a lot of attention paid to the dialogue alone.
-The yawn on the #6 category is so severe that it could dislocate someone’s jaw.
-From what Renn has said, The Illusionist deserves all kinds of positive recognition.
-Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross really did compose and arrange a great score. The albums Reznor has produced for other films including Lost Highway, Natural Born Killers and Man on Fire are really good as well.
