Eh. Looks like something I know...

Reese=Kate, Pattinson=Jack, Waltz=Billy Zane, Circus Tent=Big Boat, and in a stunning role reversal we have Hal Holbrook telling the tragic tale of love instead of Gloria Stuart.

I don't for a moment in a million years buy that the glowering eyebrows of Sparkle McShimmerypants would one day evolve into the charisma machine that is Hal Holbrook.

Hmm. Well, it doesn't look too bad, and some of the circus imagery is genuinely interesting, but, like others have said, I cannot in a million years buy that Pattinson is a younger Hal Holbrook.

I love the novel, but yeah... Pattinson is no Hal Holbrook. Damn. I kind of wished Hal Holbrook would do an audio version of the book now.

I like circuses, I like elephants. I like Reese Witherspoon While the love for Billy Zane goes deep in these parts, it does have Christopher Waltz, who I will wager is better than Zane.

The movie was a pleasantly dull diversion that was only made interesting by the natural presence of Waltz.  There really isn't much I can talk about with this film.  It's a handsome production and everything looks and sounds gorgeous.  It really is Titanic, but without Cameron's solid storytelling sensibilities.  Really... there was nothing that kept me glued to the screen other than Waltz and trained elephants.  The central romance isn't interesting at all.
