So for those of you who've seen me mention it here and there, I've got a holiday coming up. Actually, it's my first holiday in over a decade and me and my missus first holiday away ever together after almost as long.

In just under 7 hours I'll be on a plane winging it's way to Bangkok and then Manila for 2 weeks in the Philippines and a fortnight in Thailand after that.

As a consequence I'll be off and away and thought I'd take this chance to wish all my fellow chewers a merry christmas and happy new year.

I hope you all have as good a holiday season as I know I'm going to and I look forward to returning to the board in the new year and seeing everything I've missed in the interim. I don't think I've been away from the boards this long actually.

For those of you who are friends of mine on facebook there should be the odd photo update when I get the chance, but mostly it's going to be beaches, tropical jungles, incredible villages and cities, amazing food and ridiculously cheap beer, so forgive me if I don't get to a pc as often as I'd like (old Bilbos going on an adventure again at last).

Anyways, I'll let Rowly Birkin QC play me off the stage and I'll offer you all the very best and safest of holiday seasons.

Yeah, I just got back from spending 2 weeks in Indonesia myself. Besides the epic time difference (something you obviously won't have to be dealing with) it was a great trip.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm currently at Bangkok Airport posting from an internet terminal here (what an age we live in) after a red eye from Melbourne. I'm pretty tired but really excited. The plane to Manila is about to start boarding and it all starts off proper. I'll pop in when I can with updates and any tales I've collected.

So yeah, gday all, back again.

 

Did I miss much (besides the new everything obviously)?

 

Had an incredible time, Philippines was beautiful and unique and if I was living a different life I doubt I'd have come home from Thailand. As it is I want to retire out there, amazing and magical country.
