Probably the only photo I've ever found Sevigny even remotely attractive.

The bit about being the only one on the show who'd do topless nudity is pretty interesting, even though she's wrong about SATC. All four of the ladies got naked on that show at one point, and there was a time when Miranda was getting it on way more than Samantha. What I'm saying is that from a purely aesthetic standpoint, though, Big Love > SATC.

I watched the entire fucking run of SATC recently enough to tell you that Carrie is the only one whom I cannot distinctly remember getting topless at one point. The girlfriend, who made me watch said entire fucking run, says she's pretty sure SJP got nude in the first and second season, but I think otherwise.

Bringing this back to Sevigny, I figured she'd regret the whole thing. I'd regret blowing Gallo even if wasn't for a movie. I also think that Jennifer Jason Leigh, my favorite actress, and the one that originally agreed to do the part but backed out for scheduling reasons, probably wouldn't have regretted shit. She's that kind of lady.

Also, I actually find Sevigny attractive, she's got a great and real body.

I once saw Sevigny fairly up close when she walked into a restaurant where I was sitting with friends. In the middle of a story I was telling, she locked eyes with me and I totally lost my words. Trust me, she's hot.

I remember when word was trickling in about The Brown Bunny's infamous scene, and how a friend, who had a serious hard on for Sevigny, thought I was completely full of shit when I relayed the rumors to him.

We saw it when it played in our neck of the woods for a couple of days, and talked about it, maturely, but I imagine that when he got home, he probably damn near broke his dick off in a delirious state of masturbatory glee.

I tend to find Sevigny most attractive when she's all "dowdied" up in stuff like Zodiac and Shattered Glass. But then again, I'm a boring guy.

Certainly, the context of that scene is hardly erotic, but neither is a lot of porn, sometimes it's all in the mechanics. As I mentioned, my friend is just as serious a film lover, so that was actually the least spoken about thing between us, but I'm sure the initial prurient appeal didn't just immediately dissipate once the credits rolled.

I don't watch BL (I tried the first season, not for me, despite the cast. Religion just bugs me too much unless it's the official Roman state religion on ROME or something), but I think Sevigny is one of the realest and best actresses of her generation. She deserves much more success than she's found, and I don't know why she never really broke out beyond the indie scene. It would really be unfortunate if TBB played a role in holding her back. I saw TLDOD for the first time this year, and was really blown away with her performance. I wish she had more chances to exhibit her talents. I have to admire her for taking such a risk and pushing the boundaries of American cinema the way she did in TBB, but I saw the film and it's just kind boring and pointless and mean till it concludes with a scene out of a low rent REQUIEM FOR A DREAM. I've not really read any interviews on the subject beyond this most recent one, but I can't imagine what drew her to the project in the first place. Given the way that movie has marked her in the press since then, I wish she'd chosen a better film to take a risk on because the outcome turned out to be pretty tragic. This interview was tough to read. Case in point? Her battles with POST ALBRECHT HBO. Being targeted for trying to express herself about the lackluster direction of the Home Box Office speaks volumes, I think. I never was that interested in BL because my perception was that it was a soap opera, and not up to the networks usual standards. Judging by her comments about later seasons, that became what ultimately happened. Sad that New HBO punished her for speaking out

HBO used to brag that "It's not TV, it's HBO". These days? I think the best they can legitimately claim is that they are not SHOWTIME (I have not seen BWE yet, BTW.. but I must admit that another mafia show seems awfully 'safe' to me, compared to the risks HBO originally took in the wake of SOPRANOS success). Given his exchange with Ebert, up to and including bringing in the guy's cancer diagnosis into the fight, I think Gallo is a complete asshole. But he at least makes the most out of being a complete asshole. It takes a lot of balls to talk your ex into working for you and also blowing you at work in front of all the other employees and customers. I stand in rapt awe of the guy's ego.
