That's funny about the widespread acceptance of the conventional wisdom that we only use 10% of our brain's full ability. It's like the 'fact' that the Great Wall of China is visible from space.

Oh the power of an appealing idea.

Didn't watch the trailer. Hehehe.

Hah,that's not the myth! You can see the Great Wall from space. The "common knowledge" is that the Great Wall of China is the only man-made object you can see from space. Which is just untrue.

Whoops!

EDIT: Are you sure? I'm mostly finding things that say the Great Wall is very hard to discern from space mostly because its color is so similar to its surroundings.

Based on the trailer, we don't know that the film itself is propagating the small percentage myth, just that the drug pusher is. Perhaps it isn't that the drug allows you to use more of your brain, but that it allows you to use all of it more efficiently. Ultimately, it's just science fiction phlebotinum.

I just know that I'm about to not use 95% of my brain. Even with only the remaining 5% I don't find this movie that interesting.

I seriously don't care about the brain content percentage, because it's just a conceit to hang some kind of what-if scenario on. Who cares about the science in Seconds? The premise isn't bad, though the execution looks middling. Probably a rental?

Remember when this was Flowers for Algernon?

if watching the trailer with 10% of my brain revealed to me 100% of the movie's plot, what would watching the trailer with 100% of my brain reveal?

I like how Hollywood's version of the "perfect self" is a materialistic douchebag.

Because if I was super-smart, the first thing I'd do is buy a nice suit and a fancy sports car.
