Rifftrax

This looks like a good place for this maybe.

I was talking with a friend tonight about films and was horrified when I realized half the films we were talking about he'd only seen with Rifftrax.

I like the idea of Rifftrax but they've never really clicked with me, and the idea of only experiencing films through them seems like a pretty terrible way to experience film.

But what about you? What's your take on them? Nice supplement to some films, absolute must, something you don't touch with a ten foot pole?

I love Rifftrax. Have nearly 100 of them (not counting shorts). And most of the films they tackle are "pretty terrible" to begin with. But I'm also a MSTie so I love these guys anyway.

Rifftrax is not trying to replace the original films, rather add extra value to films you've already seen in addition to making some pretty shitty movies watchable. I'd have never seen Paranormal Activity or Twilight, for example.. but I did watch them with Rifftrax audio and laughed my balls off.

For films you'd actually WANT to watch, of course you'd see the regular version first. Nobody is forcing anyone to ONLY watch the riffed versions.. so I don't see the issue here.

For my money though, Cinematic Titanic is more hit than miss than Rifftrax.

Check out the Rifftrax for The Happening. It's great and very funny.
