Thread Starter
Because they're fun AND a tradition, dammit.

Best Supporting Performance Unlikely To Be Honored by a Major Awards...Team: Sean Bean, Red Riding.
To that category, I'd like to add: The entire supporting cast of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
post #3 of 35
Best Oral Sex Scene: Greenberg goes down on Florence.

Best Ending Credits That Completely Betrays The Tone of the Film It Belongs To: The Other Guys

And a controversial:
Best Movie About Facebook: Catfish

I absolutely agree with this. I like The Social Network better as a movie, but I don't think Sorkin actually is trying to comment on Facebook as a societal influence. It's more of a corporate drama.

Best Acting That Goes Way Beyond What's Expected: Patrick Fabian and Ashley Bell in The Last Exorcism.

Most Charming Scene That Has Nothing To Do With The Rest of the Movie: Bryce Dallas Howard and Matt Damon's blindfold cooking class flirtation in Hereafter.
Most Unexpected Yet Appreciated Maiming: Hiccup's foot in How to Train Your Dragon. Thematically necessary from the moment Hiccup shoots Toothless down, yet it was still a shock to see the filmmakers go through with it.
Best Unexpectedly Awesome Performance by a Pop Star-Justin Timberlake in The Social Network. I haven't really followed Timberlake's acting career, so his excellence here was a complete, pleasant surprise.

Worst Animated-to-Live-Action Adaptation-The Last Airbender. It makes one of my favorite shows of all time into a boring, occasionally hilarious mess.

Best Animated Soundtrack-John Powell, How To Train Your Dragon. God bless Randy Newman, but his score for Toy Story 3 was just OK. Powell's score is AMAZING.

Best Live-Action Soundtrack-Four-way tie between Scott Pilgrim, Inception, Tron Legacy and The Social Network.

Best Adaptation of a Comic that Sucked-Kick-Ass. It takes a nasty, needlessly mean-spirited Mark Millar comic and turns it into a hilarious, exciting action flick.

Best Action Sequence-A four-way tie between Inception's hallway fight and the final battles in Kick-Ass, How To Train Your Dragon and Scott Pilgrim.

Sorry about the ties, incidentally.

Best Sex Scene: Kunis. Portman. Hands down.

Most Hilarious Sex Scene: MacGruber and Kristen Wiig
Runner up: MacGruber and Maya Rudolph
Runner up that isn't MacGruber: Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo, The Kids Are Alright
Most Uncomfortably Arousing Sex Scene: Dren and Adrien Brody, Splice

Kill Of The Year: Keira Knightley, Never Let Me Go.
Kill of the Year that isn't a fucking bummer: Val Kilmer, MacGruber

2010 Excellence In Badassery Award: Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz), Kick Ass "Show's over, motherfuckers." If you didn't want to stand up a cheer for that girl right then, you are dead inside and should be pitied.
Best Use of Foul Language: Colin Firth, 'the King's Speech'.
Best Use of Sarah Polly's Vagina: SPLICE

Most Awkward Comfort Hug at the End of a Movie: SPLICE

Best Stating of the Obvious: TRUE GRIT

Biggest What the What the Fuck?: Two-way tie between the last shot of INCEPTION and SHUTTER ISLAND's "Baby, why you all wet?"
Biggest Boner Killer:Black Swan, Natalie Portman going down to tickle the little man in the boat when all of a sudden her mom's in the room with her.
2010 Licensed Music MVP: The Prodigy, Scott Pilgrim and Kick Ass
post #12 of 35
The Wrong Performance Being Recognized Award = Andrew Garfield. The Social Network

He was much better in Never Let Me Go and Red Riding.

Best Musical Number: "I've Got a Dream" from Tangled. The sheer unexpectedness of it scores it a ton of points, but it's also a genuinely funny and rousing number.

I still refuse to believe this movie was any good, but since I haven't verified that for myself, I'll just have to counter nominate Emma Stone's dance number in Easy A.

I actually thought the songs were the weakest thing in Tangled. Menken just doesn't have it anymore.

BEST MUSICAL NUMBER: The Clash at Demonhead.

BEST PRODUCT PLACEMENT: Now and Laters in LET ME IN.

I agree with the high five, but for nudity I got to go with Violante Placido, The American.
Was my runner up.

That was #2 for me. Hit Girl is shocking, but Colin Firth's FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKSHITSHITtits is an absolute riot to watch. It was definitely one of the hardest laughs that I've had all year.

Best Proof That Mila Kunis Should Stick To Possibly Imaginary Lesbian Ballet Dancers: The Book of Eli
post #25 of 35
I still dont understand the shit people give Kunis in that movie. She has a slight role, but she gives it a lot of personality.

Certainly better than she was in Max Payne.

Eh. YMMV. I think she was really miscast for ELI, and simply didn't have the screen presence or believable potential as a badass nomad chick.
I just watched 'the Book of Eli' for the first time this weekend, and I certainly have to agree that she stuck out like a sore thumb in it. She was totally wrong for the part and kinda took me out of the film whenever she was onscreen.
She wasnt supposed to be much of a badass, though. Just someone who knows how to survive and keep up with Denzel. Unless I missed something.

Closing shots disagree with you.

But it's a subjective call. Like Judas wrote - she takes me out of the film. Simply doesn't have the chops or screen presence to hold her own against Denzel, Oldman, Stevenson, or Gambon. Hell, I think even Jennifer Beals was better in the film than Kunis.

I always figured a 2,200 mile walk will drop anyone balls permanently, but eh, she's also minor to that flick. Which I kinda loved, btw.
The "I Wish My Dead Wife Would Get Out Of My Head" Award: Leonardo DiCaprio
Best Comedic Bit-Parter: Michael Keaton
Thank God the Movie Finally Came Out so I Am No Longer Exposed to Online Marketing and Hyping of Said Film: Scott Pilgrim.

No, but they will look small next to your now freakishly jacked legs. Believe me, I know.

The Biggest Marketing Con Job In A Trailer: The Expendables. Not only were Bruce and Arnold only in one fucking scene and Mickey Rourke didn't do anything cool, but the trailer made it out to be so fucking good. Seriously, fuck this movie.

Best Use of Popular Music: "Tonight The Streets Are Ours" during the opening montage of Exit Through The Gift Shop. It's actually incredibly moving.

Personally, I gotta give this award to 127 HOURS. Not only are the uses of "Lovely Day" and "Never Hear Surf Music Again" genius,  but the placement of Sigur Ros' "Festival" gave serious shivers. Boyle's a master at selecting pop music for his flicks.

BEST ACTOR STUCK IN SHITTY MOVIES: Paul Bettany - "Legion," "The Tourist"

BEST SHOTGUNNING OF A WOMAN IN A BAD FILM: Mel Gibson's daughter in "Edge of Darkness"
