As discussed elsewhere on CHUD, Steinfeld's inexplicably getting a supporting nod when she's clearly the lead, and capably helms the story.

Those choices look almost exactly like how I predict the Oscars to go down.

I think Director is more of a toss in the air, and I don't think Steinfeld will get a win, in either actress category, even though she absolutely held her own in True Grit. Melissa Leo really deserves some recognition, and I think she'll be sharing the Supporting spotlight with Bale.

If Scott Pilgrim should get anything, it's Editing, but I can definitely see Inception stealing almost all the technical awards.

I don't know, bud. I think Director (Fincer) is a lock along with Adapted Screenplay (Sorkin) and Score (Zimmer).

Maybe you're right, as looking over the nominees again, it's likely the Academy will pull some usual strategy like "the Coens and Danny Boyle recently won Director, and Nolan still needs to earn some more stripes and nobody likes Aronofsky", and that simply leaves Fincher. But honestly, I think there's no real front-runner in terms of true outstanding directorial effort. They all did a really amazing job with their features.

My apologies to the Academy for not playing the cancellation game.

Best thing going for Nolan for a win (He'll get a Picture and Director nod, no doubt) is Original Screenplay. But that'll probably go to King's Speech.

Like I said in the older OFCS society, the only ones I voted for were Steinberg (I'd have voted her Best Actress if she'd been in that category) and Deakins.

My initial ballot vote had a lot of Enter the Void and Scott Pilgrim on it. After the nominees came back I did my best against Social Network and Black Swan, which are good movies, not best ever.

Here's how my list would've shaken out:

- Best Picture: Enter the Void

- Best Director: Gaspar Noé, Enter the Void

- Best Lead Actor: James Franco, 127 Hours

- Best Lead Actress: Hailee Steinfeld, True Grit

- Best Supporting Actor: Miles Teller, Rabbit Hole

- Best Supporting Actress: Alison Pill, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World

- Best Original Screenplay: Gaspar Noé, Enter the Void

- Best Adapted Screenplay: Matt Reeves, Let Me In

- Best Cinematography: Roger Deakins, True Grit

- Best Editing: Jonathan Amos and Paul Machliss, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World

- Best Animated Feature: Didn't see any of 'em

- Best Foreign Language Film: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

- Best Documentary: Inside Job
