I'm still lukewarm on the idea of a Blood Meridian movie, but goddammit James Franco keep your hands off of it.

I'll eat up any McCarthy adaption, but god forbid a first time director take it on, especially Franco.

Might as well let Tobey Maguire direct The Hobbit.

Franco has directed before, just nothing as ambitious as Blood Meridian. Still, I'd be more interested in his take on it than Tony Scott.

So I suppose Todd Field's version is dead now, huh? That sucks.

A Blood Meridian adaptation screams for Coens.

Hey, I have ambitions to direct an adaptation of Blood Meridian too. That doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Still- Danny McBride as Toadvine...

Both of these possibilities sound like a terrible idea. COnsidering they're two of the greatest American novels ever (AILD being a major contender for outright best) if anyone's going to bring them to screen it ought to be someone who can actually write, which Franco has shown he can not.

Considering all the shit that Franco likes to dabble in, it is a mathematical truth that sooner or later, he will have done everything. Can't wait to see him play Scout in the remake of To Kill A Mockingbird.

Unrelated: his lack of sleep makes him look like he's 50 years old.

You just made me spit out my fucking drink. Sigged for the time being.

While Franco directing Blood Meridian has me worried, him directing As I Lay Dying is above and beyond scary. That is a damn tough story to sell readers, never mind film. Multiple, shifting points of view with an Australian Great Barrier stream of consciousness.

I am honored!*
