Hey...where'd the "rate member" link go?
Sorry, I don't let people rate me anymore because my doctor said it was hazardous to my health. What else ya got?

Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein! I love that movie!

Hey Talbot, I gave you a five as well. I think it's just bad form to give anyone anything but a five. If you don't have anything nice to say...

The typos on the main page and articles, I don't mind so much because CHUD staff are volunteers. They have regular jobs and lives and often do stuff for CHUD at bizarre hours in the night. I give them props for doing as much as they do.

Typos in posts are unexcusable!

The feedback in this thread is much friendlier than I expected. I shouldn't have worried so much.

Here's another irksome mistake: "I should of done that!" instead of "I should HAVE done that!"

Okay, I've said my piece/peace.

Do you know what I really hate? People who bag my groceries with their mouth open.

Hey! Maggots what about my Golden stars, I'm pretty civil most of the time and very edumacational.

What I pissed some of you off, did I really, well give me 5 golden stars for doing it well.

What I can't write worth shit, well give me 5 golden stars for doing it soo well.

There ya go, Hellspawn...but only b/c I'm out of needle-studded popcorn balls.

Nobody mentioned Pron. That one got so popular it's a joke now. And what about noone from AICN? That one gripes my ass.

I agree that this has been much more civil than I expected. That's a good thing. That's why we like it here.

Oh, and feel free to include me in the barrage of 5s that are going around. This is my official 100th post! I'll return a five if you deserve it.

Edited for, uh, spelling and grammar...

Would it be churlish to point out that "Creeture" should be spelt with an "a"?
Phucker.

Spelling and grammatical errors irk me quite a bit and even I do not have perfect skills in writing the English language. I always look something up if I'm not sure.

I will however admit to having an inclination toward phonetic spellings like Creeture since just seeing a word can evoke the response that speaking it would also garner.

Being in internet land we don't hear each other, we have no inflection, thus, I often use spellings like "prolly" (sorry gravedigger), "spose", "dunno", "hallo", and "sumpthin" because that's how I'll say it more often than not. This is not to say I have no benefit of proper pronunciation or enunciation, it's just my casual "Creeture Speak", or "fun-diction" for you babies with the degrees ;D.

And by the by, I will try to get back into proofreading the Corner articles, I usually do it right before heading to work, but lately I've been a lazy bastard and am always running behind. And Johnny can be cranky when I point out errors, but he's cute so I don't mind wink

People need to stop being so typo negative. I often make mistakes but it's not cos I don't know how to spell, its cos I type at speeds of over 143mph.

That was a mistype of 14 wpm
Okay, so I type like a retard, so I tend to forgive typos. But there is one phrase that people misuse tons, both in talking and in typing, that gets me every time.

"Intents and purposes", NOT "Intensive purposes".

While the last could be used in some instances, it is usually not what people mean. I have no idea why it irks me so. Maybe it involves all that ritual abuse at the hands of a cult. Last week.

Other than that, type on.

one that drives me apeshit is when people pronounce the word mischievous as "miss-CHEE-vee-ous".

please do not attempt to use "big" words if you don't know the proper pronunciation.
