I was very excited to see the American Reunion movie. I saw American Pie just after college and remembered it was quite funny. Jim, Michelle, Oz, Heather, Stifler reunite for their high school...

I'm kind of in love with Automatic, been streaming that from their MySpace for a while. Really like their overall sound, but that song really stuck out to me. Kind of love the mix of really post-punk bass and guitar mixed with those more modern sounding synthesizers.

I've loved them for almost as long as I've loved music. They've just grown and grown technically, keeping that recognizable hook-driven pop sound but finding new colours along the way. Stuff their peers could only dream of, really. And I'm glad you love the synth - it's been one of their calling cards since the Moog-tastic days of Something To Write Home About.
If you like Get Up Kids 2.0 (more alt-rocky than their earlier pop-punk stuff) I'd recommend picking up On A Wire. It's the album where they evolved into basically the band you're hearing now. Almost ten years on, it still sounds unbelievable.
Thanks, Spike.
