Chris Miller's Solo Music

As some of you may know, my band, Green, broke up. Joe (the drummer) and I are still going to be making music together, possibly involving my good friend Jason on bass. In the meantime, I'm working on some small projects by myself. Below is my first attempt at doing something completely by myself, a cover of Colin Haye's Overkill . Even though the band used to cover it, I went out of my way to play it completely differently.

Sounds good, what kind of mic you use to record with?

Thanks!

Just a cheap MXL Condenser mic, and an MXL condenser shotgun mic for the guitars. While the band was finishing up our soon to be released final album, we got a two pack with both of those mics on sale for a hundred bucks,

Edit*

This is the pack we got,  though it appears to have doubled in price:

I've heard worse recordings with better mics, you got a pretty good sound from those.

Mate, I don't know how I missed this until now. Sorry to hear about Green. You're a fantastic guitarist whose stuff always delivers the goods so it's exciting to see what's in store, despite the disappointment.

Took another hit from the 80s. Made it sound so crazy.

I like A Skyful of Stars (Jess' Song). That's a song I wanna have playing while me and the lady are on the beach at night. Very cool.
