Amistad: First Time

I delved into Spielberg's Amistad tonight for the first time. The movie is 2 1/2 hours long and feels like 50, but every performance was great. I'd say it's Spielberg's Barry Lyndon.

It was blatantly obvious that with Amistad and The Lost World (both released 97), that the Berg was looking to recreate the success that he had in 93 with Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. So I find his reasons for making the movie suspect. Goodbye Uncle Tom is a better movie.
