Mortal Kombat: Rebirth will keep up the grit on the internet.

I am okay with this plan. I'd actually say all this is contingent on the new game actually being any good as well, but if the stars align, watch a new movie get greenlit by years end, I guarantee.

i'm intrigued. I liked the short flick, so we'll see where this goes.

I thought the short was sort of terrible as Mortal Kombat goes.  The game is silly -- it's Big Trouble in Little China.  Twisting it into something nihilistic like Saw reeks of fanboys who want everything to be as dark as possible.  "OMG, the Legend of Zelda movie totally has to be rated R!!!!"

Pretty much this. But the continued (and scarily obsessive) popularity of Mortal Kombat more or less assures that this will happen sooner or later.

I don't know anyone who take Mortal Kombat seriously so who cares at this point.

What I care about is Stovall reteaming with Jai White and *fingers crossed* Scott Adkins.

Ticket bought if so.
