Not a big loss, IMHO. I'll admit to not being a big fan of SM, even in the context of SM films, but it doesn't seem like that loud mouth character was integral to the proceedings in Rami's films at least. That angry, mustachioed shicht has been played out, IMHO, so I am glad they're not trying to shoe horn it into this latest Spider Film. It doesn't make realistic sense for a high school aged Peter Parker to be dealing with the editor of a major paper, even as an internship. Sticking him in would be fan service and nothing more IMHO
