WHEN EASTWOOD AND BEYONCE COLLIDE, A STAR IS BORN

Not to put down Jay-Z, but I kinda hoped this was the news that Eastwood had swooped in on Beyonce and she was carrying his baby. 

I have not seen the Streisand film in ages, but this seems like an odd choice for him to direct. Plus, do we need a remake?

If there is one number as powerful as Judy Garland's The Man Who Got Away, it's existence will be justified.

In all honesty, I'll be interested to see how Eastwood shoots the musical numbers. But I agree with you about Beyonce's casting. This isn't a simple rise and fall story, it's about the relationship between Vicki and Norman (or whatever names end up being given to the characters), and all of the messy emotions that come when you really love someone. Nothing I've seen of Beyonce's acting shows that she's really capable of the wide range of emotions it would take to play the character. 

Whoever gets cast as Norman is getting an Oscar nod for sure, though. That's an old school awards kind of meaty role.

Wow strange strange mix here. Someone pulling strings for Beyonce because landing Eastwood is gonna make her look good. Weird thing is Clint is very old school about music he's a jazz lover and basks in simplistic scores. Either this turns out bad or very very good. It will be very interesting to see the results.

I think this is only a good thing for miss Knowles though.

I love musicals. I love Clint's old ass. The casting will really have to stink for me to miss this.

Yeah, this is just so batshit crazy that I'm there for it! I've neglected most of Clint's recent work (theatre going wise; waited for DVD) so I'll definitely check this out in theatres. Like it was said above, it could either be really bad or really good. If it's bad , it'll be a glorious bad.
