BLACK PANTHER GETS A PEN

When I was a kid, Black Panther was one of my favorites. I'm certainly keeping an eye out for this.

Although I can already see the arguments from various non-racists. "The movie incites violence because the name alludes to black militants."

I can too. And considering certain political factions are trying to raise that spectre, it's bound to be all over Big Hollywood by tomorrow.

Someone recently told me I might as well join the Black Panthers.  I guess I'm too nice to "those people."   Really upset me, but perhaps I should take it as a point of pride.

I'm curious where this story would go.  I think keeping it an origin story, entirely set within Wakanda sounds most promising, but that also strikes me as unlikely.  (Though I would have said the same thing about a Captain America movie set entirely in the forties, at one time.  So who knows?)

Black Panther's reasons for coming to America were shady and duplicitous.  And how does that work in the absence of the Avengers?  Maybe my thinking is too narrow.  I suppose we could have a remake of Coming to America, except instead of just being a king, he's also a superhero!  Hijinks ensue!

Elisabeth Rappe, Michael Jai White, would be...Perfectly cast, as, T'Challa The Black Panther.  I always liked the Black Panther, and how he would routinely defeat, The Man Ape, M'Baku, which he did again in...The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!

It's really fucking sad that a movie like this would get people upset in fucking 2011.
