Fright Night

I just saw this movie on AMC for the first time and I liked it. It was a pretty good movie and it was pretty damn entertaining. I found the main character's best friend that got turned into a vampire very anooying and was very happy when he finaly died. I don't know how badly it was edited or if it was edited before but it didn't seem very gory to get edited much. I heard the sequel is crap and I don't want to see it.

Fright Night is awesome. Im not ashamed to admit its one my all time favorite Vampire movies. Its silly, funny, a bit campy, but it never takes itself too seriously and the gore is pretty good.

Hell, I even like Fright Night 2. Alot of people dont like that movie but I think it was well done and a good continuation of the story.

Fright Night == Good. Sarandon and McDowell are both great chewing the scenery in their roles, and that scene where the chick gets the huge, toothy smile--for some reason that always hits a nerve with me. Good stuff. Everyone can agree the vampire mythology has been done to undeath, but FN took that old stuff and made it fun and new.

Haven't seen FN2 in years, but this is making me want to rent it again to refresh my memory.

Yeah - it's a shame that your first "Fright Night" viewing experience had to be on TV...but what can ya do?

This film has to be one of my favorite horror films.

Pure 80s Tom Holland goodness. My favorite scene is where McDowall first "realizes".

It's the best no-reflection-in-mirror reaction ever caught on film.

It is a good one...but my fave mirror-take is still in 1931's Dracula, when Van Helsing shows Bela the cigarette case and Bela slaps it out of his hand. For a moment Bela looks like a cornered animal, ready to attack--then in a marvelous piece of acting, he SLOWLY regains his composure and gives the parting line,

"You will...forgive me. I do not like...mirrors. Van Helsing...will explain."
