Ebert's lower face returns in time for his new show.

It'll be nice to have him back on TV. Probably a good thing about the new chin though, not sure the world is ready for Movie Time with Dr Tongue.

Wonderful news. Ebert on television once again is in no way a bad thing. He looks good, well, as good as a guy with a prosthetic jaw can look I suppose.

I dunno, I kind of prefer the beard idea.

Looking good! Glad this device is to his liking, and I hope it helps him with the show. The beard actually looks really cool IMHO, so that would be have been a good option as well

He seems to have settled on the option that's right for him, so while I'm 100% behind that, I think an even better option would have been to CLU him, and perhaps use holograms for his on set AVATAR. You could have him looking like he did on the very first season of AT THE MOVIES. As the CLU Tech continues to advance, this could become a cost effective option for the show in the near future

Anyway, even if I don't always agree with him he stands for thoughtful film discussion, and I hope that he has a chance to spotlight new voices and call attention to worthy cinema

(true holograms are fairly expensive though, so either working via a screen with "depth" like Apple is working on, or with a fake CNN style hologram would probably be the most realistic option for manifesting his CLU AVATAR)

I'll looking forward to watching the new show, but I'm confused about when it's on. I'm seeing it listed as either tonight, tomorrow or even next Thursday. I'm thinking it depends on the local PBS station. Anyone know for sure?

Well, it was weak suffering through two horrible film reviewers to finally get to Ebert's lovely mug in the last five minutes.

But at least if you're going to get somebody to voice-over your work, I'd want it to be Werner Herzog too.

Yep. Ebert's blog had a PBS listing up (in PDF format) when the show was announced a few weeks ago. It starts on Sunday in Rochester, my birthday!

I was pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of the Werner Herzog voice over during the Roger's Office bit.

Werner Herzog should do voice-overs for everything, up to and including my daily life.

I am baffled to say that Ebert chose somebody who is actually worse than Ben Lyons in the form of Ignaity. Jesus Christ, thumbs up for Season of the Witch AND No Strings Attached? Are you fucking kidding me?

The dude is pretty terrible. It's sort of amusing to watch the barely concealed disdain flash across Christy Lemire's face from time to time.
