MOVIE OF THE DAY: THE GAUNTLET

1. The Gauntlet is an awesome movie.

2. Ben Shockley is a great name.

3. All the shoot outs are so over the top it's magnificent.

BRONCO BILLY diss aside, another great MOD write up, Elisabeth. My favorite scene is the long drive with Bill McKinney.

But a cop, especially a flunkie like you, when the sheriff whistles - you squat. And what he does to you rots your brain. No amount of water on earth can get you clean again

I wasn't dissing Bronco Billy. I like that movie a lot except for Sondra Locke, whose "bitchy heroine pit against blue jean hero" schtick was beyond painful at that point.

Beverly D'Angelo (so adorable in Every Which Way) would have been perfect in Bronco Billy.  In my alternative history, that's who costars.

I just love that a house get's totally and utterly destroyed by hick cops. "I think they shoulda just surrendered" "Yup"

Great choice. And that poster is more than great. It is pure awesomeness descending from movie poster Valhalla. Seeing this poster for the first time instantly gives +3 to manliness if you're a man and +3 to appreciation of manliness if you're a woman. 

The Locke thing is like a more extreme version of when Charles Bronson came down with Jill Ireland Syndrome.
