RIP, Wizard and Toy Fare magazines

Well, I guess that's $40 or so I'll be getting back into my pocket per year.  Dammit.

There was a brief announcement posted that said they are going to a digital format and discontinuing the printed magazines after February.  Bummer.

Thank God!

We stopped carrying this at our comic shop awhile ago and had told customers it was strictly a by-order item. Fucking thing kept getting more expensive and thinner, not to even mention the fact that much of the content was dedicated to movies as opposed to comics. This isn't even taking into account the Death of Captain America debacle. I think we're all the richer for this loss.

I enjoyed Toy Fare just because it would have the new Lego sets usually before I saw them anywhere else...and TTT, of course.  Ironically, my latest copy of Wizard came with a renewal notice.  I took it out of my wife's bill stack and shredded it.

Last I saw, they were continuing Toyfare. Is that incorrect?

No sadly, it seems that Toyfare has fallen under the axe as well.

I'll miss Toyfare just for the typically funny Twisted Toyfare Theater. I gave up on Wizard a good while back; it was turning into Starlog.

I'm pretty far out of the loop, what was this about?
