There was a Larry Sanders rerun on IFC the other night where Carvey was guest hosting for Larry, and his monologue was essentially the retarded mugging that he's doing now. I'm sure at the time he thought it was good-natured self-parody, and not a window into his future.

 

I actually liked Carvey a lot, and enjoyed The Dana Carvey Show. His last standup special may have been the worst I've ever seen, and I saw that shitty Broken Lizard special that inspired the "Stand-Up" thread.
