Chopping Mall! I haven't seen that video cover in years. That and "Surf Nazis Must Die" were the two video covers seared into my brain from my videostore-browsing youth.

My main memory of seeing The Black Hole in the theater was puking in the car on the way home. Surely it wasn't that bad?

Just for the hell of it, adding the robot run amok movie Eve of Destruction. Renee Soutendijk tries to follow fellow Netherlander/Verhoeven vet Rutger Hauer into the cinematic android hall of fame, but with considerably less successful results. She plays a sexy android who likes to bite men's dicks off, and who could go kaboom at any moment. The only thing standing between us and the titular destruction? GREGORY HINES.

Like Chopping Mall it's nowhere near a good movie, but it is pretty amusing. Best for when you feel like a late 80s/early 90s style sci-fi action thriller, but all the "A" and "B" choices have already been seen at least thrice.

Yes, EVE OF DESTRUCTION! Sadly, as I note in the piece, I wasn't able to devote as much attention to these selections as I originally wanted to (History's Movies' one major flaw as a column is that it is obviously time sensitive). EVE OF DESTRUCTION woulda been on there. Also had originally planned to throw up RED PLANET, DEMON SEED, and maybe SATURN 3. I'm sad I didn't have time to get up DEATH MACHINE. Alas.
