DVD REVIEW: KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT, THE

Personally, I thought the film clipped its own balls off by having yet another mainstream lesbian story where all said lesbian needed was a good dicking to bring her back around from the dark side. That irked me more than the ending. Granted, said sex scenes are completely hilarious, but whatever poignancy about the difficulties of family life in these relationships kinda faded into nothingness right there.

And yes, nothing but love for Ruffalo, but this is so not a role I'd have given an Oscar nod to.

What kills me is that by not sticking the landing, they totally undercut Moore and Bening. But, Bening ends up better for it. There's a really dark undertone that seems to have been artifically created by the weak ending.
