WILL SMITH LAUNCHES NEPOTISM INC.

Really dislike the nepotism that has brought us the career of Jayden Smith. I can think of no reason he was cast in such a prominent role in THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL other than his connection to the elder Smith, and he managed to be a completely blank void of charisma that ended up drowning the movie. That a major studio would shoot their tent pole in the foot simply to do a solid for a star whose good graces they're attempting to retain perplexes me. I've not seen KARATE KID, but I doubt he's much better in that than he was in TDTESS

As for Willow.. don't really care. Wake me when these kids display a modicrum of non autotuned talent worthy of the attention that's being lavished upon them. Until then I just hope they'll steer clear of films I actually care about seeing. Does being Will Smith's Child carry with it any actual box office draw? Child actors can make or break a movie, and it just seems dumb to go with terrible ones simply because they're already famous

Smith himself long ago wore out his welcome with me. He's immensely talented, and yet is content to coast on dreck in order to fill his coffers. He's wasted his 30s making junk, and now he's getting old. He could have any script in the world green lit, and he chooses the bottom of the barrel time after time (or worse, he'll have good scripts watered down in order to be dumb enough to please his target audience)

The sooner his star fades and his kids disappear from the spot light, the better IMHO. Will, start taking acting seriously or one day no one will care. You will have no legacy. 20 years from now, no one will be watching HITCH simply because you were such a charming guy back in the day
