Used DVD/Blu-Ray missed opportunities?

Hi, all.

Apologies if I'm recreating a topic, but I was wondering about those opportunities where you passed up a deal on a used dvd/blu-ray and weren't sure if you chose correctly.

I ask because last night I visited a local place that specializes in second-hand movies, music, and video games (Cool Stuff for those of you in Virginia Beach) and found the Collector's 3-Disc Blu-Ray of Avatar for $20.  The slip cover was slightly frayed which was no big deal, but on the inside cover, there was a huge scratch running the length of Neytiri's face.  I held onto it while I browsed for a good 20 minutes or so but the "collector" in me just couldn't bring myself to pay for damaged goods.  Was I being foolish or are some of you particular ni the same way?

For 20 bucks, I'd have been particular in the same way if the package was an indication of the care that was shown to the discs.

Oh, alright... even if it was JUST the packaging.

If it was $10-$13 I would have picked it up but twenty is getting close to what amazon was selling new copies for around Christmas time.

And yeah, it seems like I have an experience similar to that every time I go into my preferred used blu store; I can't bring myself to pay $25 for a Lost blu ray when  it doesn't include the hard slipcase cover.
