Would it be controversial of me to declare Mortal Kombat the best Videogame adaptation ever, and that this looks fucking stupid?

Not controversial at all. It probably is. Which says more about the sad state of video game movies, than its quality.

 

My favorable feelings towards it probably have a lot to do with how sweet the KMFDM song was.

Hell's bells the soundtrack was out-fucking-standing. The opening titles gave me chills.

The Mortal Kombat theme music promises a much more awesome movie than what ends up getting served. I will say though, that as ugh-the-fucking-NINTIES as the first film is, it at least had a little bit of a self-aware sense of humor about the proceedings. This web series, and the internet-wide jerking off it's getting, is a pretty good clue into why American men can't be cast as American heroes anymore--the amount of manchildren in the 20-30 range is astounding.
