This really does look like the kind of film that no one is willing to make these days, and I kind of have to wonder if Inception, which treads on many of Dick's themes and turned into a worthwhile gamble, has anything to do with this coming together.
There are only a handful of filmmakers whom I believe are capable of correctly relaying Dick's impossibly vast imagination to a film audience, but Gondry is one of them. He did his "one for them" with Green Hornet without completely embarrassing himself, so this to me seems like something to get genuinely excited about.
