TRAILER: APOLLO 18 LOOKS GREAT!

The Blair Launch Project.   Could be interesting, I suppose, although the found footage genre is beyond played out by this point. 

The found footage genre is now like zombies and vampires in that it feels so incredibly played out, yet all it takes is someone to do a little spin on it and everyone flocks to see it.

Hey wait, has there been a found footage vampire movie yet? If not, I've got Final Draft open right now...

I like how it takes very familiar imagery we've seen in countless docs and pictures and adds just a bit of unfamiliar terror in the periphery.

Unless... of course... this is REAL.

Looks like good fun with some parasites and a sickness on hand to deliver the scares. Liked the quick shots of them finding a helmet and an antenna. Looks like there have been other guys there as well. Maybe a further plot that the men who have returned from the previous missions aren't who they appear to be?

I just wanted to pop in and say "Fuck found footage movies!"

Do found footage movies really have any worse a track record than any other subgenre of horror?

I think it's just the idea that it's not a subgenre as much as it's just one single plot element. Like if everyone started making a bunch of time travel movies within a single decade. Which might be pretty cool, actually, I never get sick of that.

No. It's just that they're a huge aesthetic turn off for me. I really, really dislike the way they look. Nothing more than that.
